• PC/ABS pyrolysis in NH3/Ar with complete product mass balances. • Ammonia shifts product yields from gas and char toward liquid condensates. • Ammonia increases BPA yield to 35–40 wt% (59% of theoretical maximum). • GC × GC–MS and volcano plot analysis show NH3 suppresses many phenolic by-products.
