• A unique facility was constructed to quantify orthohydrogen conversion kinetics. • New hydrogen conversion kinetic data acquired down to 30 K and up to 40 bar. • Kinetic model parameters re-tuned using these and other literature data. • New model parameters require 33 % more reactor volume during liquefaction.
