Despite having a long history, consumer technology is going through a transformative evolution characterized by increased intelligence due to the incorporation of cutting-edge computing and communication capabilities into end-user consumer devices. These electronic devices are connected to the Internet, allowing smooth data transmission to assist alarm systems and decision-making processes. The research for new models and algorithms acquires greater relevance and urgency than ever before in our increasingly complex and specialized technological world, which is defined by fast breakthroughs in computing. This feature opens the door for attackers, who can perform various attacks from all aspects, such as software, hardware, and networks. Simultaneously, we cannot avoid devices' communication properties because it is the basics of developing smart applications, such as smart cities, villages, and healthcare, where security and privacy-aware design solutions become unavoidable for any emerging computing infrastructure building.
