Abstract

• Crust- and mantle-derived pyroxenite xenoliths are differentiated by Re-Os isotopes. • New whole-rock 143Nd/144Nd and garnet δ18O values are reported for pyroxenites. • Arclogites assimilated minor amounts of subducted components and/or older crust. • Os isotopes support crustal origin of pyroxenite interpreted as foundered crust. • Crustal foundering in arc settings can recycle highly radiogenic Os to the mantle.
