Abstract

• A sparse matrix-based SONAH method is proposed to improve low-frequency reconstruction accuracy. • The approach exploits sparsity in propagation and reconstruction matrices to reduce numerical instability. • Numerical simulations show a 3.3 dB average error reduction in the 100–500 Hz range. • Anechoic chamber experiments confirm a 7.3 dB improvement over conventional SONAH. • The proposed method reduces CPU usage by two-thirds, enhancing computational efficiency.
