• RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) act as key regulators of gene expression throughout lens morphogenesis • Transcriptomic profiling identified Carhsp1, Igf2bp1/ZBP1 and Ybx1 amongst the most highly expressed lens RBPs • Carhsp1-crystallin mRNA interactions were validated in cultured mouse lens cells • Our findings enable targeted genetic and molecular studies of RBPs to probe lens fiber cell differentiation
