To evaluate the role of intravitreal anti-VEGF with moxifloxacin in intraocular tubercular granuloma.
This retrospective interventional study was conducted at a referral uveitis clinic between January 2022 and 2025. All patients who had received intravitreal anti-VEGF with moxifloxacin along with systemic anti-tubercular therapy (ATT) for intraocular tubercular (TB) granuloma were included.
Ten eyes of ten consecutive patients with tubercular granulomas treated at our institution were analyzed. The median age of presentation was 32.5 years (range 18–44 years). The median duration of follow-up was 4 months (range 2–34 months).
Seven cases had TB choroidal granuloma, two had ciliary body granuloma, and one had both choroidal and ciliary body granulomas. All patients received intravitreal anti-VEGF and moxifloxacin along with systemic ATT and oral steroids. Nine eyes had resolved granuloma till the last follow-up. One patient had persistent inflammation despite three intravitreal anti-VEGF injections along with moxifloxacin. The visual acuity improved in eight patients.
Adjunctive intravitreal therapy with anti-VEGF and moxifloxacin along with ATT aided in resolution of intraocular TB granuloma.
