• A self-regulating RBC preservation system (SRPS) based on reactive oxygen species (ROS)-responsive magnetic microspheres was established for ultra-long RBC preservation. It can sense the onset of oxidative stress in system and trigger the release of highly reductive hydrogen on demand, providing a dynamic protection microenvironment of RBCs.
