The Diderot effect, defined as shopping for compatible and integrative products, lacks a specific scale in literature. This study aims to develop a valid and reliable scale to measure the Diderot effect.Aninitial pool of 23 items was reviewed by eight experts. Following feedback, exploratory factor analysis was applied to the first sample consisting of 307 people and confirmatory factor analysis was applied to the second sample consisting of 315 people. After analyzing the scale's validity and reliability, the Diderot effect scale, composed of 15 statements consisting of the sub-factors of harmony, status, and integrity, was obtained.
