• Nonlinear multilayer multiagent system with a leader and several followers is studied. • Both network topology and nodes of each layer are different, and both intra-layer and inter-layer coupling are constructed. • A fully asynchronous event-triggered-based protocol is proposed. • Two kinds of sequential scaling attacks with different scaling factors are analyzed. • The sufficient criteria are derived to ensure secure consensus of multilayer multiagent systems.
