Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• We quantified seed number and seed weight depending on environmental and/or genetic source of variation. • Seed number was the sole component accommodating large seed yield variations, while seed weight remains conservative. • Only in those cases with small seed yield changes, there was a trade-off between seed number and seed weight. • Despite morphological and physiological differences, rapeseed showed the same yield pattern as wheat and barley.
