Abstract

• Selective Transferability Mapping (STM) screens donors for cross-basin EC prediction. • Tests across 578 stations showed that cross-basin conductivity transfer is selective. • STM outperformed comparison approaches on supported basins without observed flow. • Donor support identified basins less prone to severe prediction failures. • Residual and stability analyses characterized prediction reliability.
