• Self-powered frequency tuning via vibrational energy is experimentally validated. • Electro-magneto-mechanical model is developed and validated experimentally. • Numerically validated Harmonic balance method simulates oscillator response. • Resonance frequency increases by up to 28.9 % over a 10-minute frequency dwell test. • Updated model with polynomial magnetic fit matches experimental results.
