• A self-supported flexible oxide-based synaptic transistor with eco-friendly konjac glucomannan dielectric was proposed. • Presynaptic inhibition property that is quite different from postsynaptic inhibition was demonstrated for the first time. • The self-supported synaptic transistors could achieve natural degradation in ambient water.
