• Silibinin suppresses LPS-activated pro-inflammatory pathways in BV2 microglia. • Silibinin inhibits mitochondrial disorders and downstream STING/NLRP3 activation. • Downregulating TREM2 causes mitochondrial disorders and induces inflammation. • Silibinin stabilizes TREM2, mitigating mitochondrial stress in LPS-treated BV2 cells.
