For load identification, closed-loop control, and status monitoring in wireless power transfer systems, it is necessary to achieve bidirectional data transfer based on wireless power transfer. This paper analyzes the characteristic impedance of power and data transfer channels. It proposes a modulation/demodulation technique utilizing differential binary phase-shift keying (DBPSK). It emphasizes the injection and extraction of data modulation waves from a series-connected coupling coil, enabling simultaneous transfer of power and data. Finally, the proposed structure was validated through on experimental platform, with the test results indicating stable bidirectional data transmission during wireless power transfer. At a transfer distance of 10 mm, the maximum transfer efficiency reached 83.0% when the wireless power output was 70.73 W. Additionally, when operating a communication baud rate of 9600 bps for bidirectional communication, the average time delay for one-way data transfer is approximately 289 ms. Analyzing the measurement data revealed that the data transfer channel has a relatively small impact on the transfer efficiency, output power, and load capacity of the power transfer channel.
