Due to the close correlation of glutathione (GSH) with various diseases, the rapid, sensitive and accurate detection of GSH was of huge significance in terms of safeguarding public health. Herein, a Ce-based single-atom nanozymes (SA-Ce-CN) was explored by one-pot in-situ reduction-pyrolysis method. The constructed SA-Ce-CN possessed conspicuous peroxidase-like activity, with low Km values of 0.165 and 0.199 mM for TMB and H2O2, respectively, which enabled efficiently decompose H2O2 into hydroxyl radical (center dot OH) and resulted in the oxidation of 3,3 ',5,5 '-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB). Based on above mechanism, a convenient colorimetric platform for GSH sensing was established and achieved the satisfactory linear relationships in the range of 1.25-125 mu M (artificial urine) and 1.25-150 mu M (artificial serum) with corresponding low detection limits of 0.39 and 0.62 mu M. Importantly, the sensor triggered the acceptable results with recoveries ranging from 97.21% to 105.38% and low relative standard deviations between 1.59% and 2.82%, when applied to the detection of GSH in real samples. This work not only provided a robust, sensitive, and facile colorimetric method for GSH detection, but also expanded the promising applications of Ce-based nanozyme in biological analysis.
