• Studies solar radiative MHD flow of Sutterby hybrid nanofluid over a stretching sheet. • Homogeneous–heterogeneous reactions to model coupled heat and mass transfer. • Hybrid nanofluids outperform nanofluids under shear-thinning and thickening effects. • Hybrid nanoparticles reduce solar thermal radiation penetration into human skin. • Nonlinear governing equations are solved numerically using MATLAB bvp5c.
