• We study spin-dependent group delay time in gapped 8-Pmmn borophene superlattice. • The group delay time depends on the spin of the incident electron. • The group delay time can be tuned by energy gap and the superlattice parameters. • A gapped 8-Pmmn borophene superlattice can act as a spin filter. • Hartman effect in a gapped borophene superlattice can be observed for both spin.
