Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• This work derives a closed-form expression for the critical time step in the Material Point Method (MPM). • The critical time step approaches zero when the center of mass of particles within a cell nears the cell boundaries. • The velocity projection procedure in MPM reduces the critical step size by approximately 20–30%. • A simple yet effective stabilization scheme is proposed to significantly enhance MPM stability.
