The stochastic preference analysis (SPA) is inspired by the stochastic multi-criteria acceptability analysis (SMAA) approach, which assists decision-makers (DMs) in making informed judgments and mitigating information loss. This study introduces stochastic distributed preference relation analysis (SDPRA) as a method to represent preferences with varying intensities between alternatives across multiple linguistic grades, specifically tailored to address decision problems involving pairwise comparisons. Relatedly, a stochastic allocation model about the belief degree of uncertainty is proposed considering the upper and lower grades in DPRs. Besides, to facilitate the preference of DMs, the form of the generalized utility function of grades is proposed by taking diminishing marginal utility (DMU) into account. Finally, the complete process of SDPRA is presented, and a hotel selection issue is applied by incorporating online reviews and real user experiences to demonstrating the usefulness and effectiveness of the proposed method.
