• Flexural behaviour of NSC and UHPC composite girders in cable-stayed bridges studied. • Partial UHPC replacement enhances crack resistance, capacity, and ductility. • 24%-thinner full UHPC slab offers comparable stiffness to thicker NSC slabs. • Refined analytical models based on Eurocode 4 improve capacity predictions. • UHPC replacement in CGCSBs may accentuate shear lag effects in the slab.
