• The CCT promotes the occurrence of non-affine thermal strain by introducing thermal stress, thereby increases the toughness of Fe-based amorphous coatings. • CCT rejuvenation effectively improves the corrosion resistance of Fe-based amorphous coatings by increasing Cr3+ and Mo6+ in the passivation film. • The friction corrosion volume of the coating was reduced by 2.42 times by the CCT process. • Corrosion-induced friction dominates material degradation, with coating wear primarily including abrasion, fatigue delamination, and friction chemical wear.
