Pocheon Hantan River Y-Shaped Pedestrian Suspension Bridge was constructed to enhance the tourism attraction around the Hantan River Columnar Joint Road, Pocheon, Republic of Korea. Its unique non-isometric Y-shaped spans were designed to overcome the surrounding topography and to be established as the landmark of the region. To connect three spans at the centre, conventional pin-type socket anchoring system at the centre girder block may cause significant stress concentration. To avoid this phenomenon, continuous cable system was developed to redistribute forces exerted by cables. The bridge installation process involves constructing anchorages and pier, main cable installation, central frame lifting and girder installation. In order to perform precise real-time adjustment of central frame location, shape management using Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) sensors was implemented.
