• An uncertainty-guided Bayesian probabilistic quadrature method is proposed. • A quasi-posterior standard deviation of time-dependent failure probability is defined. • A stopping criterion and a learning function are developed to support active learning. • An adaptive parallel sampling strategy is developed to enable parallel computing. • The superior performance of the proposed method is verified by four examples.
