Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• We assessed the human-to-human transmission risks of Nipah virus at community level based on literature of historical Nipah virus outbreaks. • The majority of Nipah virus human-to-human transmission ceased without generating secondary case, but demonstrated high heterogeneity in transmission risks. • The introduction of seed cases into a community posed a low but non-negligible risk of a large-scale Nipah virus epidemic. • Our findings may contribute to informing public health preparedness at community level and cross-border travel ban.
