Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
The global energy transformation promotes the integration of structural load-bearing and electrochemical energy storage in construction materials. Cement-based energy storage composites are highly promising for intelligent zero-energy buildings, yet they face an inherent core conflict that electrochemical performance relies on high porosity and conductive networks while mechanical bearing demands dense and defect-free matrices. This paper reviews the classification, working principles, key materials, and performance progress of cement-based batteries and supercapacitors. It systematically summarizes synergistic optimization strategies, e.g., conductive filler design, microstructure modulation, polymer modification, and interface engineering. Existing challenges, including the lack of coupling evaluation criteria and unclear service behavior, are highlighted. Finally, future directions in multi-scale design, intelligent manufacturing, and life-cycle assessment are prospected, providing guidance for the practical application of structure-energy integrated materials.
