• Ionic liquid (IL) + MDEA improves CO₂ capture and energy reduction. • Hybrid system reduces reboiler energy and operating costs vs. MDEA. • More IL boosts CO₂ and reduces energy but lowers H₂S removal. • Amine–IL mixture is a cleaner, more sustainable option for gas sweetening.
