• ANXA11 rapidly localizes to and plugs holes in damaged plasma membranes • CHMP2B localizes later to sites of damage and helps externalize ANXA11 plugs • Shedding of these lesions heals the membrane and preserves cellular viability • Some FTD/ALS-associated mutations in ANXA11 and CHMP2B impair membrane repair
