Considering our contemporary media environment, involving microcelebrities, parasocial relations, and media objects that transcend the screen and visuality, this paper argues that the contemporary porn viewer consumes from a cuck position. The cuck position is similar to the sexual act, wherein a man withdraws himself from a heterosexual encounter with his usual partner to actively watch her engage another man. However, neither the sexual act nor the watching position is passive and/or subordinated. The cuck viewer is active and dominant-the scene unfolding is for his pleasure. A cuck viewership constitutes three interrelated dimensions-homoeroticism, nonmonogamy, and interraciality.
