• For extruded 7075 Al alloy, the optimal static recrystallization condition determined by DSC is 535 ℃ for 45 min. • The R80 specimen reaches a maximum precipitate number density of 1.99×1017 cm-3 at peak aging. • Precipitate morphology evolves from short rod-/needle-like into regular elliptical and nearly spherical shapes during aging. • Compared with the R0 specimen, R80 achieves UTS 570 MPa, YS 507 MPa, and elongation of 7.8%. • The fine-grained structure improves deformation coordination; high-denisty η' phases effectively impede dislocation motion.
