Abstract

This paper makes the case for an overlooked phenomenon in action theory: logically complex actions. Although the case it makes relies on some ideas from Anscombe and her recent interpreters, the paper also argues that the phenomenon is a neutral desideratum, and so important for all philosophers of action, regardless of their theoretical commitments. Then, it goes on to emphasize the phenomenon's importance by showing its relevance to three cases from the literature.
