• Sensitivity analysis quantifies SOLWEIG's response to urban and tree form changes. • New Radiative Cooling Efficiency (RCE) metric to compare tree cooling scenarios. • Larger canyon aspect ratios cut radiant heat exponentially, unless east-west oriented. • Wide east-west canyons receive the greatest tree shade, narrow north-south the least. • Low-trunk trees shade streets more effectively than taller trees.
