Abstract

• Hybrid nanofluids improve convective heat transfer and solar energy absorption. • The PCMs store 250–442 kJ/kg depending on type and processing, via reversible phase change. • Also the coupling nanofluids with PCMs enhances heat transport and exergy efficiency. • Moreover the integrated hybrid systems support thermal energy applications and solar-driven hydrogen production. • Main challenges include long-term nanoparticle stability, PCM performance retention, and cost-effectiveness for large-scale systems.
