Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• Open-cycle MVR is assessed for low-temperature alumina steam generation. • Waste heat and steam temperatures determine compression stage requirements. • Feasible MVR cases achieve COPs of 2–7 and 62–70% of the Carnot limit. • Median MVR-electric boiler cost parity occurs near the MW scale. • Moderate temperature lifts reduce compression work, stages, cost and emissions.
