• The newly identified skarn in the Jiudian gold deposit formed at ca. 145 Ma and is genetically linked to the Linglong granite. • Gold mineralization occurred at ca. 120 Ma, matching the emplacement age of adjacent mafic dikes and indicating a genetic relationship. • Two distinct magmatic-hydrothermal events are recognized in the deposit: barren skarn formation at ca. 145 Ma related to Linglong granites, and gold mineralization at ca. 119 Ma associated with mafic magmatism.
