A 74-year-old woman underwent 18F-FDG PET/CT scan for the diagnostic work-up of multiple myeloma. Unexpectedly, intense radiotracer uptake in the tongue suspicious for malignancy, which was histopathologically confirmed as a parakeratotic squamous epithelial proliferation without cytologic atypia.
