• Synchronized force–pressure–displacement measurements are validated. • Aerodynamic force synergy (AFS) and aerodynamic energy synergy (AES) promotion/counteraction modes are defined and identified. • Impinging edge vortex (IEV) synergy reflects coupled IEV–trailing edge vortex (TEV)–added-mass aerodynamic behavior. • Vortex synergy regulation enables predictive vortex-induced vibration (VIV) suppression.
