Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• Transport infrastructure causally promotes firms’ cross-regional expansion. • Expressway openings increase both the number and reach of nonlocal branches. • Effects are stronger for private firms and inland firms. • Resource reallocation, costs reduced, and lower contractual frictions drive the effects. • Infrastructure investment facilitates market integration via firm-level responses.
