In agriculture, Trichoderma spp. are used as biocontrol agents, plant growth promoters, and to enhance tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses. Trichoderma appears to be the most suited aspirant for application in green agricultural and industrial practices due to its broad use as biofertilizer, biopesticide and diverse metabolic activities. This review presents the importance of Trichoderma spp. and their multifunctional nature in different sectors, including biotechnology, industrial importance, and nanotechnology. Use of Trichoderma species in the field of nanotechnology is still in the budding phase, and in future, Trichoderma spp. are expected to provide multifaceted avenues in different sectors.
