Abstract
En 中文
In this paper we propose a two-dimensional multiple maximum scatter difference (2DMMSD) method for face representation and recognition. The new algorithm is based on multiple maximum scatter difference (MMSD) discriminant criterion and image matrices projection technique. The 2DMMSD method does not need to transform image matrix into a vector prior to feature extraction so that it is computationally more efficient and accurate than MMSD in extracting the facial features. Experimental results on ORL and Yale face databases demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method. (C) 2010 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
