• Green synthesis: Room-temperature method traps Pd NPs in N-doped carbon pores. • Stable Pd NPs: Pyridinic N and pores ensure high dispersion with no leaching. • Top efficiency: TOF of 39,415 h−1 for tandem NH3BH3/nitroarene hydrogenation. • Eco-friendly: No harmful byproducts, water solvent, >96 % activity after 6 cycles.
