• GO/TiO2/SiO2 composite synthesized by ultrasonic-assisted impregnation. • Sonophotocatalysis achieved 91.95% ATZ removal vs. 85.82% for photocatalysis. • PFO model best fit; sonication gave 33% higher rate via radical generation. • Despite theory (pH ≈ 2.5), optimum pH ≈ 4.5 indicates kinetic control.
