Machinery vibrations have an influence on the intensity of underwater noise caused by ships. By using new, low-vibration drive concepts, underwater noise can be reduced. This paper examines the underwater noise emissions of a hydrogen fuel cell and battery powered inland push boat and compares the results with those of a conventional diesel powered boat. For this purpose, the experimental setup is presented, the measurement results in the frequency spectrum are shown and discussed.
