Unraveling the mystery of polymorphic selection in the melt crystallization of piroxicam

Abstract
En 中文
• The nucleation rates (forms III and VI) and growth rates (forms I-IV,VI-IX) of piroxicam polymorphs have been accurately measured. • Our kinetic measurements confirm that the polymorphic outcome in piroxicam’s melt crystallization is governed primarily by nucleation kinetics. • Specific hydrogen-bonding motifs and their stability predetermine the nucleation propensity in the melt.
