• Total socio-economic contribution of the Panama Canal to the national economy. • Increase from direct 6 % to total 7.7 % of the Panama Canal into Panama's GDP. • More than 20 % of government revenues come from Panama Canal dividends. • Almost 16 % of Panama's exports facilitated due to the existence of the Canal. • Induced and indirect effects of the Canal activity expand its job creation to almost 3 %.
