Generative artificial intelligence is considered one of the most significant recent technological developments impacting the innovation of forensic investigation tools and the analysis of digital evidence. This study aims to examine the applications of generative artificial intelligence in the field of criminal data analysis. The study addresses the technical and practical characteristics of this technology, including its ability to analyze images and videos, comprehend language and forensic documents, and extract sensitive information and patterns. The study adopted the descriptive analytical method, which relies on analyzing scientific studies, peer-reviewed articles, and official reports related to the use of generative artificial intelligence in criminal data analysis. In addition, an inductive methodology was used to derive useful results from existing models and research. The findings showed that generative artificial intelligence provides valuable resources for pattern identification, locating evidence, and evaluating multimedia, all of which contribute to expediting and improving the accuracy of forensic investigation processes. However, there are serious issues related to algorithmic bias, violation of privacy, lack of regulatory legal frameworks, and absence of legal accountability. According to the report, Jordan should enact specific legislation that takes into account the nature of this technology, ensures human oversight over its decisions, and protects individuals' fundamental rights in accordance with current international legal standards.
