Abstract

• A visual method for temperature-sensitive areas of machine tools is established. • The visualization algorithm processes the high and low frequency components of the temperature signal respectively. • Visualization of temperature-sensitive areas guides the placement of temperature sensors. • The validation results of the cluster-correlation analysis proved the efficacy of the methodology.
