• First field-scale SEB and ETa measured in hazelnut orchard via 3-year EC study. • Seasonal Kc quantified at 0.57–1.09 for drip-irrigated hazelnut crops. • Latent heat flux dominated, 62–72% Rn; ETa peaked at 6.4 mm day⁻¹ . • Energy-balance closure slope 0.93–0.96 (r² ≥ 0.94) proves data reliability. • Validated Kc enhance precision irrigation in Mediterranean hazelnut orchards.
