• WISP-3 significantly increases IL-1β expression in synovial cells in a dose-dependent manner. • WISP-3 activates the FAK/JNK/c-Jun signaling cascade to promote pro-inflammatory responses. • WISP-3–induced activation of c-Jun enhances its transcriptional activity, driving IL-1β production.
